Asus Ecobook bamboo laptop Available next Year

Asus company has updated the design of its ultraportable laptop EcoBook, which entered the market on March earlier this year. This luxurious wood laptop called " EcoBook Bamboo " and it has become trendy and very positive be green.

ASUS has planed to release market this laptop expected on 2008 and it will be the first laptop made of real bamboo, but remember it's just a prototype only the design may well change again before its release.

Designers focused on the wooden surface of the model. A cover and a touchpad are finished with plates of bright bamboo. With 'EcoBook' Asus has created a laptop which positively helps fighting the global warming and greenhouse effect.

The ASUS’ green Ecobook aims to be as environmentally friendly as possible as ASUS is aiming for a 50% recyclable rate.



In the new ASUS ECOBOOK there is a LED indicator below the screen that changes its light between green and red to show when you are in a low or high energy consumption setting. These LEDs themselves are mounted directly behind the product surface to save waste and there are no paints, sprays or even electroplating used on its components.



The company did not provide any more information about its specs, except that it would be based on Intel's Core Duo 2 processor.
