Dell unveils the XPS M1530 laptop

Dell XPS M1530

As I reported a few weeks ago, I had written that Dell was preparing to release its new laptop XPS M1530, and now, the company has officially presented the new notebook. Official specifications indicate that it will be a very flexible constructor that allows the user to get an affordable mobile station working with the enhanced multimedia functionality, and a powerful gaming laptop.

Thus, the list of processors can vary from Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 (1.50 GHz, 2 MB cache L2, 677-MHz FSB) to the Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 (2.60 GHz, 4 MB cache L2, 800 MHz FSB) .

Possible graphics accelerators represented NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT and 8400M GS. The thickness of each model is only 1 inch and they weigh less than 2.7 kg. Laptops are presented in three colors: black, red and white.

The hard disk can be up to 320 GB, but if the user wants SSD - then he will have to confine itself to 64 GB. It is possible to install an optical drive, reproducing Blu-ray drives. All configurations include useful interfaces such as HDMI, Firewire (IEEE 1394a), ExpressCard/54. Dell XPS M1530 is equipped with a 2-Mp web-camera.

The new 15-inch M1530 looks and feels like a slightly bigger brother, and even better, it starts at a very moderate $999 (the 13-inch version debuted at $1,299). Expect the M1530 to weigh about 6 pounds and still manage to get in around 1 inch at its thinner front edge.
